Adoption school

Our foundation maintains a warm and active contact with our adoption school, OBS “De Dordtse Til“. On these pages the school and we like to give an impression of how the children experience our activities and stories.

Children's reactions

Each year, our board members visit the highest classes of OBS “De Dordtse Til” to tell the children about the remembrance and the story behind the graves in our cemetery. Underneath you will find children’s reactions in response to these visits.

Bert Bosman

Bert Bosman was in our class. He told about the second world war. and about the first world war too. Only a little bit about the first world war. That was very interesting I though. We all received a leaflet. That explained the history and how it went and what not.

Recently mister bosman came to tell something about the second world war. That was very interesting. Man that was a horrible time, especially for the jews. I took pity on them. But for the rest it was a good lesson. “This should never happen again and you all must pass on that message.” mister bosman said at last. But I am telling you now. But now you must pass it on too. To everyone.

Meneer Bosman

Meneer Bosman was in onze klas. Hij vertelde allemaal dingen over de 2e wereldoorlog veel dingen wist ik nog niet bijvoorbeeld dat de meester van de school die eerst op de ijsbaan stond onderduikers in huis had. ik heb gehoord dat er een jood dood is gegaan ze hebben hem in een kruiwagen naar het oranje kanaal gebracht daar is hij in het kanaal gegooid. Meneer Bosman heeft nog veel meer dingen verteld hij zij dat hij nog een keer zal komen en over de gaskampen ging vertellen. Dat is mijn verhaal over Meneer Bosman.

En ook meester van Gelder Hield joden in huis maar toen ging er een dood Die werd toen s avonds met stenen In de sloot Is gegooid. Toen vertelde hij over de norit dat is Gebombardeerd omdat de Engelsen dachten dat het al Duitsland was. Toen zij hij dat wij Ook mee mochten doen met de stille tocht
